Fees questions

Is a joint report one combined figure?

No. A joint instruction produces a separate assessment for each party, based on their own income, deposit and commitments. Each person’s findings stay independent, which is what the court and both solicitors need. Instructing jointly is simply the more economical way to obtain two reports.

How long does a report take?

Once we have a complete set of information, reports are typically ready within 48 hours. If there is a hearing or negotiation date, tell us when you instruct and we will work to it wherever we can. We do not start the assessment until the information we need is in.

Can you model more than one scenario?

Yes. Two affordability scenarios are included in the report fee. Each additional scenario is £25 — for example a different deposit, a change in maintenance, or keeping versus selling the family home. Outline what you need when you instruct.
