Process
From instruction to a report the court can use.
Built for solicitors who do not have time to chase, and clear enough that an individual instructing us directly knows exactly what happens next.
01
You instruct
A solicitor, another legal professional, or an individual. Tell us whether the report is for one party or both, any hearing date, and any extra scenarios the court or you want modelled. Two affordability scenarios are included. We confirm the fee: £250 single, £450 joint, £25 for each additional scenario.
02
We send a data-capture form
It covers personal details, the parameters of the report (property, deposit, term, retirement age), income, credit, maintenance and dependents. You can complete it, or send it to the client. Incomplete files delay reports; a complete form does not.
03
Documents come in
Ideally, we ask for income proof documents, along with the completed data capture form, so that our report is created using accurate and up to date income figures. For PAYE income this is payslips and for self-employed this is last 2 years’ personal tax calculations and/or 2 years’ Limited Company accounts. If income proof documents are not provided, your instruction needs to be clear on what income levels you want us to use when preparing our report.
04
We liaise with you to ensure we understand your requirements
If there are any questions on the information and documents provided, or we need clarification of your requirements, we will contact you by phone or email to straighten those out. You will have a person as a point of contact.
05
You receive the report
Typically within 48 hours of a complete file. A written assessment of likely borrowing and monthly cost, with the facts it is based on set out clearly enough for a judge, the other side, and a non-specialist. Suitable for negotiation, mediation, FDR and final hearing.
